There is so much hatred out there aimed at our church concerning prop. 8! I never knew what was going on until we ran across an article that talks about the rallies that are going on at the LA temple. And on the Today show, they said that mail containing white powder (which turns out to be nothing harmful, thank goodness), has been sent to the LA and SLC temple. It is so sad!
What is also so heart breaking to me is the many misconceptions out there concerning our church. For example, the same ultrasound technician that asked me if I knew HOW I got pregnant, later asked Eran if he was going to marry a 2nd or 3rd wife...and she was very serious. When we told her that our church no longer practices polygamy, she was shocked. There a several other misconceptions out there about our beliefs. All I can say is that now is a time when we will have to be strong as we stand up for our beliefs, and we will need to really put into practice Matthew 5:44, "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"

My hope and prayer is that we can find that ability to still love those who hate us and persecute us. To do good to those who curse us. I give you my word that we are not some crazy cult, who has horns in the back of our head, or anything like that. We are just human beings who desire to follow Christ's example the best way that we can.

I just got caught up reading your blog. I was laughing when I read about the chaos in church - you're right, NOBODY notices because EVERYBODY (well nearly everybody, except for the grumpies who don't have children and then complain to the bishopric leaving us with an ENTIRE sacrament meeting devoted to reverence and how we SHOULD take our kids out, ARGGGG! Ok so I got WAAAY of track) is dealing with their own chaos and thinking that everybody else is staring at them!
Phew. That was a long sentance.
Just a few weeks ago I finally put my foot down, maybe more like stomped it angrily to the ground, and declared "NO more snacks in church!!!"
I've never been happier.
