I went to a friends blog, which landed me on another blog. And in this specific post, she was talking about how she realized that they reason why her kids were clapping their hands and shouting "yeah!" when the closing hymn started playing, was not because they were excited about the music. But because they knew it was nursery time.
So today, as the speaker closed his talk, I started looking around at my children to see if they would do anything when the closing hymn started playing. Sure enough, Ethan started screaming, "YEAH!!!" and clapping his hands as fast as he possibly could. LOL! I cracked up! Out of all of the kids, I didn't expect Ethan to rejoice over nursery. I guess I didn't think he knew what was coming next. Poor boy, I need to give him more credit than I do. I have always been so worried about his development. Mostly, his lack of not speaking english. He says very few words in english! His language of choice is full, blown out babynglish. But I seriously think that I need to start getting off of my worry horse and realize that 1) every child develops at a different pace. 2) he's a boy! Boys take longer to talk (so i've heard.) And 3) he IS extremelly intelligent! He's starting to recognize the alpabet. As he walks thru the house, he will see some random letter and say, "B W C (or some other letter inbetween). He is super awesome at puzzles. And even though he can't talk a whole lot yet, he for sure still communicates to me about what he wants. And he does a pretty dang good job at it! So...i'm backing down. I'm not going to stress out as much over him.
Who can resist that face?
(but I don't heart her decision to join a nudist colony! She won't keep her flippin' clothes on 3/4 of the time. And then she walks around saying, "i'm cold!" Uh...yeah! *sigh* What do you do about that?!)

Golly don't worry for even 1 second about a 19 month old not talking, Capri didn't really start talking till she was 3 and then it took even longer for her to be understandable. Beat that! Now, well you've heard her - she speaks just fine and ALL the time. Capri started identifying letters very early too, and knew the full alphabet by the time she was 2, I mean identifying them and all. She was also extremely good at puzzles, ones that were way out of her age range.
LOTS of people wanted to convince Jeff and I that there could be something "wrong" with Capri. We decided to NOT listen and go with our gut, we knew she'd be just fine. We really wanted to make sure she wasn't labeled anything before she'd been given the chance to just be a little kid and catch up.
