Today my Grandma Snow passed away. She was 81 years old. We had been expecting it for awhile now.....but it still hits you like a ton of bricks when it actually happens.
As sad as it is, I am so glad that she doesn't have to suffer anymore. She has had alzheimer's for many years now, and her health has especially declined ever since my Grandpa died this past July. She is in a happier place with our Savior, her husband and family, my cousin Brinlee, and my brother, Hyrum. And i'm sure that she has hundred's of people waiting to thank her for the temple work that she has done for them. Death is always hard and sad, and I have cried a few time today. But when they are at the age when they are ready to go, its also a time of happiness 'cause you know that they are happy. Its the cycle of life. The old who have lived a full life, pass away from this earth. And now there is a new generation of Snow's/Huntington's/Barnhart's/Morphew's being born into this earth to learn and grow and fulfill their second estate. And I KNOW with ALL of my heart that I will see her again someday!!!
One of the things that I remember the most about her is the wonderful, delicious dinners that she would make! And I remember when we would go over there during Christmas time, I would spend forever looking at all of her Christmas decorations. She had a whole little Christmas village set that I thought was just the coolest!
The funniest memory that I have of her is when I was younger, I had gathered up a bunch of little "rolly polly bugs" (do you know what i'm talking about? the bugs that curl up in a little ball when you pick them up.) They were like my prized possession! And I remember her coming out and flipping out when she saw them. She started stomping all over them. LOL. I stood there in horror as my bugs are being squished to death. LOL. It was traumatizing at the moment, but now I look back and laugh!
I remember running in their huge yard while pretending to be a horse. And Jeb and I would play in this big tree that they had. I remember the smell of my Grandma's bathroom and her makeup, and the smell of my Grandfathers wood shop. He had an amazing talent with carpentry! Those are good memories! Its fun looking back and remembering everything about her and my Grandfather.
Here are some pictures of her. She was a WONDERFUL Grandmother, and she will be greatly missed!

My brother Jeb, myself, my brother Andrew, Grandma holding my brother Hyrum, my sister Rachael, and my Grandpa. This was the last time that I saw both of them. I really like this picture. She is holding Hyrum who has since passed away....and now Hyrum is the one probably embracing her, and welcoming her home =O)

I'm crying a little bit for you, too, Aubre. "Passing on" is so hard for those around them. I am happy, too for your Grandma, but it IS sad to think that it will be a long while before you see her (and your other deceased loved ones) again. I send my condolences, and hope that you are doing ok.
